Can you believe "Skype" website is banned in Kuwait ?

If you try to access Skype a page tells you "Access to this website is

prohibited" what can we do ?

Yes.  And that's because it takes away from the income of telecom providers in those countries like Kuwait.  Some governments want to control as much as possible.

You may like to try using Efonica.  Efonica is based out of Dubai, UAE.  Perhaps they will allow services provided by their neighbours...

I use Skype and like it.  I also use many other VoIP services.  I also use Efonica too, and it works quite good also.

Not surprising! It is banned in United Arab Emirates too. Nevertheless there must be many websites which offer free download of softwares.

www.download.com is just one of them.

That's interesting. But not a surprise. Muslim countries have less freedoms. Not sure if you can get around it. Are you going to the site directly ? Try going to google and then type in Skype. Then click on the Skype site there. Sometimes this works. If it doesn't, then I'm afraid you're out of luck.

Yes I can beileve it, more people are getting less freedom, but people in the US or other parts of the world have alot of freedom.....

Here is how you can break free of the censors. Try asking a friend that lives in a free country to download psiphon at http://psiphon.civisec.org/ and create a censorsip free server for you (make sure they read the instructions before setting it up and test it first). Then after they create a censorship free server, have them give you the url to it along with the username and password. If you don't have a friend in a free country, try going to going to this forum http://psiphon.civisec.org/forum/viewfor... and find someone who set up a censor free server. I would set up censorship free server for you if I could but unfortunatly the program does not work on mac and I use a macintosh. Good luck
