  1. Yes I can, many people couln't imagine that in the past, but there it is.

I also think there is an atmosphere. Mars could be very much like earth.

  2. Yes

water is actually pretty common in various astronomical environments.

and there's plenty of evidence in the geologic structure that there has been water on Mars in the past - so why should it be so surprising?

  3. A trace of water ice doesn't quite make Mars habitable. So, I guess I wouldn't want to move there.

  4. Lets see, the average temperature is -150C, I would die from no oxygen, and I would be eating ice... so I'm going to be sticking with Earth for now.

And yes I can believe it seeing as we've known there was frozen water at the poles for some time now. Yahoo just blew the inevitable confirmation out of proportions for media attention. Nothing new.

  5. That there's water on Mars is not news.  We knew that there was water ice at the poles for a long time.

What's news is that, though we suspected water ice just below the surface at high latitudes, now we *know* it's there.

  6. yes.

Its not water is H2O. Its hydrogen combusted with oxygen. Does not have the minerals that water on earth have.
