  1. "There are no tornados in California". That is a generalization. Freaky weather coming closer and closer and I believe it is due to air pollution. Right now hybrid cars are helping us, but we need to reverse the pollution, not slow it down. Slow it down if you can, but it's pretty much going to make tornados appear anywhere in the globe.

  2. There have been many times through the years that you knew it had to be a tornado in California because of the destruction it would do in a neighborhood, but they always insisted it was a waterspout. Today, so many people took pictures of those there is no way of denying that they were actually tornados!!! It sure was surreal, we had the emergency broadcast system break through several time on TV announcing a tornado warning. Pretty wild weather all day long! To think it was so hot you couldn't breathe on Monday-wow what a difference in temperature change we went through this week!

  3. There was a drastic change with the pressure system and you folks are experiencing it

  4. tornadoes can happen anytime, anywhere on earth that is able to have thunderstorms. there are a few tornadoes every year here in southern california. we had one here in ventura county just a few months ago, near port hueneme. luckily we don't get the big midwest twisters, i was born and raised in ohio, and we have F3-F5 tornadoes there sometimes. the good thing about out here is that they are usually weak F0 or F1 tornadoes.

the crazy thing about today which the news people seem to keep overlooking is that there were actually 2 tornadoes that spawned right next to each other. there are pictures and videos of it but everyone keeps acting like its just the one. if you know anything about tornadoes, seeing 2 at the same time is a feat that's even hard for storm chasers to achieve! good thing there wasn't much damage today, but it was truly amazing!!

  5. I KNOW!! i was coming home and on the radio it said a tornado has touched down, and then later i found out there was more then just one.  YEsterday was crazy, there was an earthquake in the morning, sunny and then it started to hail like crazy, then it poured, got sunny again and the wind started blowing hard and it started to pour again.

I'm wondering if that big earthquake (the 10.0 one) that's due, is going to happen soon

this weather is crazy! and all the years i've lived here i never knew we could have tornadoes.  It reminds of that movie "the Day after Tomorrow" with the 2 twisters tearing up Los Angles

  6. There can be tornadoes anywhere if the conditions are right. We get them here in the central valley in CA. It's when low pressure meets high pressure and we have had a lot of really weird weather in the last few days and I am not surprised.

And no - earth boy - they have been going on forever and pollution has little to do with it.

Why do the worst tornadoes occur in places where for the most part - pollution is not not that big of an issue - and no, tractors and cows don't count.

California doesn't usually experience the really nasty destructive tornadoes that go on in Texas and the Midwest. I've lived in Kansas and it isn't fun when you see that little "W" in the corner of the TV screen or spend 4 hours in the root cellar waiting it out.

  7. nope.

    it was a conspiracy!

of course i can believe it!

    its a natural disaster!

    u cant generalize about nature!

  8. An average of 6 tornadoes per year have struck California since 1950.

  9. Welll..it's better than an earthquake. Those suck.
