Can you belive Eight Belles died!!!!!!!!!?

OMG it happened soooooo fast....Big Brown won Eight Belles second!

The filly got second, and then she COLLAPSED WITH TWO BROKEN ANKLES!!!!!!

THEN THEY EUTHINIESED HER D;;;;;;

sooooooooo sad........what a brave filly :( She was there then gone...like that :(

But Congrats to Big Brown...great horse.

I just watched it.  So sad.  They had just been saying earlier that if Eight Belles won the Derby, she'd be the first filly to win in so many (can't remember how many) years.   Then the poor thing ends up with 2 broken ankles and has to be euthenized after coming in 2nd. in the race.

I hope that Eight Belles will be remembered always as a great filly. . . So so sad. .

May I add that Daniel should go to  another category.

As tragic as her death is, thoroguhbred racing is still a great sport and the Kentucky Derby remains the GREATEST two minutes in sports.

I am SO SAD!!!! I wish they could have waited a day or two, maybe, somehow, they could have made her better. I changed that name of one of my stuffed horses to Eight Belles.

Well goes to show you what a disgusting sport horse racing is. How can you rationalize this? Putting horses at risk so we can see them fly around the track for a few minutes. This sport is barbaric. I am not a member of Peta or anything like that. Just an animal lover. People should be ashamed. There is no reason this horse should have died. Horse racing is animal cruelty at its finest.
