  1. Sounds to me that some of the people are here are living in good areas. I personaly am living in a residence that I was lied to, and I live next to 3 known drug dealers. I feel and I am trying to destroy my slumlord in court. The short answer is, YES, you can get out of it. Most leases state that the Landlord has to provide certain safety elements to the complex. Where I am living for instance, I have made 14 requests to my ll about the people he allowed to move in, and that they attempted to beat up my wife. We have called the police more than once, and that is all you need. If the police, in their expert opinion feel the area is not safe, and it is due to the ll allowing any idiot to move in, then yes. Also, like I have done, ask the police officers that have come to your home to appear in court for you. That goes alot farther than any letter, or anything your landlord can do or say. These landlords need to be made an example of, and need to be taught a lesson. They need to know that they can't just decide to let any person with a pulse move into a place, and then, act innocent when they have problems. Like I kind out with my current ll, he only screens for s*x convictions, thats it. Doesn't even do credit checks. This is not legal in Ohio, if you are allowing a known threat to move into a residence that you have children in.
