I started to read on their website, but it seemed deceptive in its use of jargon. Is there some sort of cogent theory behind these materials?

It is Biomagnetic Threrapeutic  Technology. The place Titanium in the material to create a magnetic charge to the garment and therefore the body. It is supposed to effect the nervous system by shifting polarities and creating endorphine production. It also claims to increase bloodflow, cure diabetes and lower your blood pressure if you look into other titanium based products. They used to say the same thing about copper. Basically, they are saying it shortcircuits you nervous system and allows you to perform better because you feel no pain. You can also look up Gate Theory of pin management and TENS units that work on much the same theory. I think it started in baseball with eht e Big Unit in Boston some years back after steroids became such a hot topic.
