can you bring a curling iron on a plane? I'm traveling from new york to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

  1. haha, well you can but then the metal detectoor will go on and then  they would have to search the bag for something harmless.

    edit: No need for plastic bag, they are only for liquids. You are allowed to carry metal objects in the carry-on bag as long as they are not sharp or can be used as weapons. You can have it either in the carry-on bag or in the checked-in. But it's probably more practical to keep it in the checked-in so that you don't carry extra weight.
