Hello

I know its kind of weird that I am asking this but I am going in a few months in my native country. I was thinking about buying an inflatible boat and bring it with me on board in duffle bag.

Will they let me go through security with it?

  1. only if not infatble at the time (if it was inflatble it would probally wont be allowed as it could easier poked and guess who would

    be suing the airline

  2. You did mention how large the duffel bag is.  My guess is that it will have to go checked.  The biggest problem is how it is inflated.  If by hand, not a problem.  But it it uses a gas cartridge, the cartridge is hazardous and cannot be carried by air.  Also, if it is the original manufacturer's sealed packaging (never opened) it will be easier for you.  Be prepared to answer a lot of questions.  Good luck, happy sailing.

  3. If it fits within the carry- on specifications then I don't see why not. It would be awkward but I'm pretty sure it'll be ok IF you can't self inflate it. Otherwise I'm guessing they would just treat it like a surfboard and put it underneath.
