Can you bring food with you on a plane and how?

ok, i dont want to know if you can bring snacks and things, i want to know if you can bring a large portion of food in your luggage. im going on vaca and some of my family members would like me to bring them a few things that they dont have where they live. any answers will help. thanks.

  1. For your carry-ons: yes, you can. However, when it comes to liquids, it has to be below 100 mL, including perfume/cologne, hair spray, lotions, etc.

    If you are going to take over 100 mL liquids, make sure you put them in the big luggage that you are planning to check-in.

    Having said that, if you have a baby, they will allow you to have formula, juice, water, etc. over 100 mL. Just tell them its for your baby.


  2. Totally depends on what kind of food and where you are going.

    If you are going within US then yes. But any liquid foods must be checked in. You can buy a cooling box that you can pack it in and check in seperately as fragile.

    If you are going outside US then you should check that countries import restrictions. Some countried doesn't allow certain foods, just like USA. Generally you can always bring canned food anywhere in the world but again if it is liquid then you may have to check it in.
