OK, sounds a little bit strange... I'm traveling back to Germany from my 6 week vacation here in the US in a couple of weeks, and there's some stuff I'd like to bring that you just can't get over there. That would be microwave popcorn (that stuff is soo convenient) gatorade drink powder (to die for) and protein supplements (just cheaper in the US). My question is, which of those items can I take on the plane with me? Since all of them are pretty heavy (at least the amount I'm planning to take with me) it's kind of hard to put it in my checked luggage, so carry on would be good for this since all I really need on the plane is my iPod, so there's a lot of room in my bag. I know I can't take liquids, but what about a (sealed) 2 lbs jug of protein? Microwave popcorn? Gatorade powder in either the jug or the 21oz packets, all sealed. Can those go carry on? Or do they not allow powder of any kind? But then, what about the popcorn?

Clearification needed, please

  1. As long as there isn't any liquid you should be good. They should let powder on because I always take pixi sticks with me on the plane.

  2. You should be able to bring all of that as carry-on. I've done it.

It seems strange to me that you can't get any of those things in Germany. I'm an American living in Vietnam. We can't get coffee pots (the Vietnamese have a little coffee filter that goes over an individual cup). Women can't get thong panties or g-strings. There's no root beer or Pop Tarts. But we can get microwave popcorn, Gatorade powder, and the supplements you refer to.
