Can you bring your own body armor into combat or is there still rules about that...

like leg armor, neck collar armor, side armor, bicep armor, gloves. or r they still being d-bags about not letting the solders protect themselfs more than what the army is doing for them. if they r what can u bring without getting in shat for it

  1. I have wore my own private vest in combat.

    Our unit only issued flak jackets.

    I bought a level 3A vest for myself, and I wore it. I also got written permission from my CO to wear it.


  2. They're so loaded with body armor now that they can't carry a full combat load and here you come, the boy in the bubble.  

  3. well, if you do wanna be able to have more freedom then the stupid normal military then join the special forces liek the green berets....they get to choose from a whole arsonal of equipment....ive heard from ex berets that you may bring your own hunting camo into battle...so the berets sound the best for your situation

  4. You cannot under any circumstance bring your own body armor to a combat zone.  They provide you with what you need.
