Can you build your own runway in AUS

Basically that, in australia can you build your own runway and use it on your property, if so what are the regulations for it, how do you use it and what do you tell ATC when your landing in your own backyard???

  1. When I was there (1974) you could land anywhere that was flat.Guess things have changed? Will look forward to other answers.


  2. Just talk to CASA. They will want details. Generally, of course you can build and use a private airstrip on your own property. Building it to regulations will enhance your safety when using it.

    You won't get permission if you're next door to an RPT airport, though!

  3. dude...ur backyard is probably so short an remote control airplane wouldent be able to stop in enough time...let alone an accual airplane
