Can you burn dvds?

can you burn a dvd like you can burn cds? and if you can, is there anything extra you have to do?

Ummm, this is not a computer site question.

You can buy a dvd recorder.  Like the old vcr, you can put up to 8 hours onto one disc.  The only thing is you have to "finalize" the disc to watch on other machines.

Yes you can but you need a drive that can write dvd's. Other than that, most programs that can burn cd's will be able to burn dvd's also and it works exactly the same. If you don't have a program, I know with windows xp / vista you can just drop files into the dvd and burn it. I'm sure apple has programs that let you do this that comes with a mac.
