Can you bust blood vessels in yor eye from coughing to hard???

i have been sick for the past week and wa having bad eye allergies and now i have a red spot on my eye my mom said it was just busted blood vessel but can that happen?

Yes but it can also occur when you sneeze and hold your nose at the same time. It should heal in a week or maybe more.

use eye drops

it will go away as fast as it occurs

Yes. IT does. Quite frequently. I do it with violent sneezing fits sometimes. It looks bad and red and all, but it will not hurt you. Really. It will go away. YOur mom is right.

Yes.  It IS possible to burst a blood vessel in your eye from violently coughing.

I was really sick for a couple of days first thing in the morning.

I won't go into detail but I was trying to throw up really hard.

That gave me a red spot on the white of my eye which lasted about 10 days or so.

I used it to scare my mates kids.
