Can you buy Isotretinoin (Accutane), an acne perscription drug in the U.S., over the counter in Mexico?

I was under the impression you can as long as it is not pain pills or any U.S. scheduled drug. Does anyone know if foreigners can buy it, or if you have to be Mexican? Also, does anyone know roughly how much it will cost and if it will be the generic version? I live in San Diego, but want to go to Tijuana to get meds cheaper.

in some places yes..As soon as you get into TJ you'll see about 5 pharmacies all with competing prices.  Go to each one and compare.  The people wearing white coats arent even pharmacist so be careful who you talk to

Hahaha, you'd be surprised what so called restricted medications you could still buy in Mexico legally without a prescription.

Yeah, you can buy Isotreotonina over the counter here with no problems at all. It's not even an antibiotic. The clerk at the pharmacy is usually just a highschool graduate that doesn't recieve formal training in pharmachology. I've encountered once a guy that didn't know that Ampicillin is a generic.

I can't say how much that specific drug will cost, but it will be affordable to you. Generics by strict mexican law must work or they wouldn't be allowed to sell them. However, DO NOT got to a place called FARMACIA SIMILAR of Dr. Simi. It's a legally tolerated though borderline illegal franchise of lowcost pharmacies with drugs that cost 1/10th of the price of a generic and they are of shoddy quality. In the best of cases the drug they sell is the real thing but the active component is considerably reduced to save costs. The places exist because of legal loopholes (that could be tapped in the future) and are attractive to poor people because medical visits only cost 2 dollars (though whether the person there is a real doctor or not is highly questionable).

Oh, if you're female, don't take this drug if you want to become pregnant cuse it causes birth defects.
