I have a tv that doesn't have a headphone socket and no other sound output so a hifi wont work either. Is there some kind of scart adapter i can uses to add a headphone/output sockets to my set - via rca or scart? (P.S. I cant use the output sockets on my dvd player as its only got 1 scart socket. My reason for wanting headphones is so i can use my xbox360 and not disturb my sleeping partner, the xbox is currently running through the rca sockets) Please Help Me

  2. I've never heard of such a lead and I'm not certain the low-level signal output from the Scart would drive headphones. You would get some sound, but it would be pretty tame. The other possible problem is headphones are a relatively low impedance load, whereas the Scart is designed to be connected to a high impedance. This could lead to equipment damage.

If you're handy with a soldering iron and a screwdriver, you could add your own 3.5mm socket which would use the TV's amp and bypass the speaker(s) when headphones are connected.

Another alternative is to buy a headphone amplifier and connect the Scart/RCA to the input and the headphones to the output. That'd work really well and shouldn't cost too much.

Hope this helps, but e-mail me if you need to.
