Can you buy a car without ssn??

Question

so.. I am 18 years old and i wishes to buy a car without my parents involved.. currently I have a student visa without a social security number and I also have a drivers lisence. I'm planning to buy the car in cash. so I'm wondering if SSN or any other kind of id is needed to buy a car.

You do NOT need a Social Security # to buy a car or get car insurance either. I've sold many cars to students from other countries.

if your paying cash for the car they don't need your ssn number they may want the funds to go through before you take the car home but it should only take a couple of days if so and for insurance no they don't as long as you have a drivers lic
