  1. As the others mention, the most popular rides at DW have fastpass kiosks located near them, You just feed your entry pass into the kisok and it spits it back out with a fastpass that shows a 20 minute window (usually within the next 60-90 minutes) when it can be used. You can go do something else (eat, shop or take in a less popular ride) then return suring that 20 minute window and go right to the head of the line. The thing to remember is that you can only have one active fastpass at a time, so you can't go to another ride to get a fastpass for that one until the first one has been used or expires.

  2. Disneyland doesn't sell them but if you're lucky, you can get one from the Year of A Million Dreams and that has them for most rides.  You can't, which is sad but most rides have a machine which you insert your ticket into and you get a fastpass. You can't get one until after a certain time.

  3. Ok first get some things straight:

You don't buy a fastpass, they are free

You can only get them for one ride at a time

Your ticket(park admission) can only get you one fastpass every hour.

You may just have to suck it up and wait in line for the rides.

  4. Fastpasses are free, using your admission ticket as the issuing agent. Only certain rides will have them (Splash, Space, Indy, etc.), so you won't be able to get a fastpass for everything.

Fastpasses are "reserved" seats set aside in the system, and are issued in intervals. Only so many seats are set aside for a given time period (i.e 20 spots from 7am to 7:30). Once those spots are filled up, the system will start issuing passes for the next interval. Once all the "reserved" spots are issued, no more fastpasses for that rides will be issued.  Some rides are very popular (Splash, Grizzly) during the summer and go through their allotment of fastpasses quickly.

While fastpasses have a 1 hour window of usage (not 20 minutes), you can still come back after the time printed on your pass (but not before).

You will not be able to get another fastpass until the start of the time period printed on your current pass, or until 2 hours have passed (whichever comes first).

  5. No. Fastpasses are free to all guests, but you have to go get one for each ride you want (and not all rides have the Fastpass system).  Don't be fooled - they are free, so you don't need to buy them.
