  1. You might be able to find an air soft rifle like that. Try looking on ebay or sport stores near you.

  2. Yes you can buy replicas, and blank firing ones.*

  3. you can definately buy a fake, but it will either take apart entirely different than a real one or it will only be somewhat similar to a real one as far as field stripping.  Sure it may have pins to pop open the receiver, but a real bolt, bolt carrier, bolt cam, firing pin, firing pin retainig pin? I think not.

Why get a fake for practicing your field stripping?  This 11 year old uses the real thing.

Maybe you can get just the bolt (or bolt, bolt-retainer, firing pin, firing pin retaining pin structure) and practice with that.

  4. why??? you can buy an airsoft replica, they look exactly the same for maybe about 300 bucks.. And they can be taken apart and put back together like a real gun

  5. Yes, you can. Although I don't really see the point unless you want to scare your friend by pointing it at them on a hunting trip...

  6. There used to be several outfits that sold replica guns, especially military fakes, that advertised in the back of most shooting magazines such as Guns & Ammo and Shooting Times, as well as Shotgun News, but I don't remember seeing any recently.

Having no interest in toys, especially fake 'poodle shooters', I can only suggest you check some of the mags available, or some of the 'toy soldier' war surplus websites.

  7. Yes, although laws concerning causing alarm, etc with a weapon will still apply.

Back in my college ROTC days, we used to use what we called "rubber ducks." They were very realistic-looking M-16s that weren't firearms, and thus we didn't care if they got muddy, etc. We washed them in the creek, and turned them back in.

They didn't disassemble though, they were one piece. If all else fails, you could probably find a "demilled" M-16, meaning that it has had its internal parts sufficiently ruined that the ATF declares it not to be a firearm anymore. Of course, if you find some way of making it work, it's a major crime, not that it would be easy or even possible.

    Hope I helped.

  8. go with the airsoft.
