Can you buy a regular helmet when snowboarding?

My question is, can you wear a regular helmet when youre snowboard. I want to buy one for when i skate in the summer and use it also when i snowboard. Is there any problems with doing that besides my ears freezing?

You can use a skate helmet for snowboarding.  There are a few drawbacks however.  Snowboard helmets are better insulated than skate helmets so your head stays warmer.  The air vents in snow helmets have a mesh over them so snow doesn't get inside.  Snow helmets have goggle retainers.  The adhesive that holds the Velcro to the pads and shells of skate helmets are designed for warmer temps.  They may not perform as well in the cold.  Some snow helmets have padded chin straps and cool audio built into the ear flaps.
