I've done the research and I saw that you can bring booze into Canada as long as you are of the legal drinking age in the province. I just wanna know if it is legal to buy booze at the duty free on state side. because isn't it technically neither in the US or Canada?

  1. I would think that if you can purchase booze LEGALLY at the duty free shop then there would be no problems (except for Canadian customs regulations) bringing it into Canada if you are of age in the province that you are going into 19 most places 18 Quebec.  BUT the duty free store should apply the rules of the state that it is in so most likly you will not be able to buy the booze there.

The duty free store IS technically in the country where it is located all they are saying is that because the items for sale in the store are for export the governments will not tax these items.  Good try though just buy the booze when you get here it will save you a lot of hassle.

    JUST DON"T DUI/DWI

  2. Yep, it's legal. As long as you didn't bring it from the US, and you bought it either in Canada or at the Canadian Duty Free shop.    Best wishes!
