Can you buy groceries on a cruise ship?

Question

Is there as store on cruise ships (in this case, Island Princess) where I can buy a bag of chips, cookies, other snack foods or even candy? Do the cruise ships mind if you bring your own grocery items on with you?

Yeah, there's usually plenty of shops on board to buy snacks and things. Nothing to worry about there.

You can probably take your own items too, but depending on where you're going to and whether you're getting off in different ports, there might be regulations about certain food items, such as dairy.

well on the cruise i went, there was 24/7 free room service and free cafe access. it had chips cookies ice cream pizza french fries, pretty much anything. literally all i ate on the cruise was ice cream and fruit cups. but you can't buy grocerys or bring food with you.

I was on the Carnival cruise 7 months  ago and they had a gift shop which sold snacks/candies.    But why do u want to buy mostly all your foods are free..   !

i wouldn't say groceries per say (since they dont have kitchens in most of the units, do to the possiblity of fire) but i know they got extras here and there. plus i would think they would charge you an arm and a leg.... even if they did have a mini-grocerie store there. hope this helped :)

we went on a carnival cruise...we could bring some things to eat/snack on...but there is always a food bar open to get food anytime of the day...and there is an onboard store open til late at night to get certain snacks....but generally there is always an ice cream bar, and a pizza station or something open at all times...ENJOY YOUR CRUISE...we can't wait to take another

i've been on the Princess cruise line before, and i'm pretty sure they don't mind if you bring food on, but taking it off with you they don't like (if you get food on an island, it could spread disease in the US or something).

Yes you can get junk food in the shops regrettably my son went and purchased some.  But really your going to have so much good food available and what ever you want.  For example when you go into the dinning room for breakfast lunch or dinner if you see an appetizer or 3 you like get them all. Or tell them you want to make that your main meal they are there to make you happy and they are happy to do it.  Have fun with the foods available that is one of the things I like cause unlike a restaurant where you order something your not sure of your pretty much stuck with it and you have to pay for it.  This is a unique situation where you can try all these different things and if you don't like it your definitely not going to starve!

my sister did.  she has chrones diease & half the food they had on the ship she could not have.  restricted diet.

I would just say your on a restricted diet.  like you have a high allergy problem to foods.
