Can you buy propane tanks for BBQ's at Costco?

If so, are they empty?

None of their online grills seem to come with tanks. However, lots of stores sell full tanks for like $20.

I've never seen them at Costco before.  I do know that they don't have propane refilling stations (you need a special permit for that) so if they do sell the tanks they are empty.  Home Depot sells full tanks as does Lowes.  A new tank + propane costs $40 in the northeast.  Refills run about $25.

Yes they do sell propane tanks at Costco, but they are empty.  You should call ahead first, Costco change their inventory often, I have not seen them carrying propane tanks at the location that I go to since I bought mine there.
