Question:

Can you carry a Dish Receiver like you can Direct TV?

My friend wants to carry a satellite dish with him to tail gate parties. I used to have Direct TV, but now I have Dish Network. Can Dish be carried? Also, with Dish, I have only one receiver for the entire house vs the two I had with Direct TV. This means if he takes it on the road, I have no TV. Also Dish requires a hard phone line connects which would be lost on the road. Anyone have any idea how to make this work during football season? We only have a week to figure this out for him.

Thanks

  1. You are going to need an extra Dish.  Go to a local retailer and tell them what you're doing.  Most of them will offer you a tripod to place the Dish.

As far as the phone line I wouldn't worry about it.  Dish will sometimes send a signal to it just to check it.  Just make sure you hook it back up as soon as you get back home.

  2. You might want to get pocketdish but you cant get live games:( or if you go to http://www.justin.tv some people air live football games but need to get internet like clearwire wireless.

  3. Unfortunatly you arent with DirecTV any more. They have their new Sat-Go system that is a 17" screen with a reciever & Dish all in basicly a briefcase. But with Dish Network I dont think you have many options. Id go onto like eBay and buy an extra dish and you are definatly going to want to order a 2nd reciever from Dish Network.
