Can you carry tabacco or cigars on an International Flight?

Im leaving for Jamaica tomorrow from JFK and I was just wondering is it illegal to carry cigars or cigarettes on an international flight? Thank you

Sure.

Just make sure you are in accordance with Jamaica's customs regulations, when it comes to importing tobacco products. Most likely, you wont be carrying enough to even make it an issue, but be sure to read the customs declaration ( they will hand it out before you land ) to see what the rules are about how much you can bring in.

I think as long as you are not a minor, it is not illegal.

Yes you can. Just don't be tempted to light up while on board.

The airline doesn't care, stuff all you want into your suitcase.

However, Jamaican customs will probably care quite deeply, and their rules apparently limit you to 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars, so long as you're at least 17.

But why bother. Poking around on the net, it looks like cigarettes are about US$4/pack in Jamaica, no more expensive than they are in the US.
