  1. It would not matter who wrote the check, the bank would not cash a post dated check.

    First, post dated cheques are not a legal document ~ in that the posting of the date forward doesn't hold back anyone cashing it right away.

    It is only through the politeness of banks :):) that some cheques get turned around and marked " post dated " in consideration of the originator of the document . . . they don't really have to do that.

    If you're doing it to yourself . . . one might wonder why you'd toss and debit and credit at your own account for what exactly ? . . . see no point.
