My friend puts her pet lizard i think it is. in the bath in water once a week to poo or something. Yeah don't ask i dont really understand it either and she doesn't clean out the bath peoperly. She uses a cheap bath spray. And my mate stayed at her house for a week and caught thrush while there. And reckons that she got it from using the bath. Is this possible?

  1. No. The only illness transmittable from reptiles to mammals is Salmonella. And that can only be transmitted from f***s to mouth contamination. Your mate would have had to eat poo, or get it in his mouth. Thrush is a fungal mouth infection, and lizards do not get these. Well, they can get mouth rot, but that is caused by bacteria, not fungus.

But tell your friend that they should be cleaning out the tub better. We give all of the rescues here baths once a week, then bleach out the tub.

  2. no healthy lizards don't carry that type of fungus but humans actually do naturally but sicknesses and stress can cause it to grow out of control
