  1. First of all don't listen to this a** obviously she don't know what she talking about no you can not catch herpes from the shower or toilet seat you can only catch it throught direct contact of the area where the herpes is such as the coldsores on the mouth or the genitals if you aren't having s*x with the person who has it then you will be fine even if you were to have s*x with them and use protection you will be fine however make sure the person washes their hands a lot and you should get a lysol spray for the toilet seat and faucet handles in the shower if you are that scared but no you can't catch herpes from that only from direct genital to genital contact or mouth to genital or mouth to mouth contact depending on what kind of herpes it is herpes is not as serious as people may think someone can have one bad outbreak and then never have one again like they never contracted a disease this is because herpes sleeps in the nerve after outbreaks it can break out again from stress but its not something that is around all the time

  2. yes herpes is and extremely contagious disease.. be careful

  3. No. It is not common to catch any thing from a toilet seat - even though we al associate it as a disgusting place.

  4. No, you can't. It is passed through skin to skin contact. Think what area of you makes contact with a toilet seat - it is your thighs and rear end, not the more delicate tissue.

Also, herpes only survives for a few seonds to a couple of minutes outside the body. It is an extremely fragile virus.

All I would say is don't share anything you are going to rub your v****a with straight after someone else has used it for that purpose - but unless you are sharing s*x toys, I can't see that happening, can you?

Remember herpes is not as infectious as people think it is. It has evolved to be spread in a specific way - through the skin to skin contact of kissing or genital intercourse, and not by other means.

Herpes is also only infectious for a fraction of the time - about 10%.

My parents had the same worry about me at first, but now they are fine. There has never been a documented case of such transmission of genital herpes.

And to the other answerer, herpes does not live in urine!! It is not passed in bodily fluids either. It is just present for a small period of time on the skin, and is transferred from their to someone else's skin.

  5. It is not common to, BUT, yes you can. Check out all the websites. They say its not common or rare to catch it from toilet seats. The seat has to be wet though (from pee, water from an overactive flushing system etc) for the virus to live and then its only got a small timeframe before it dies anyway. The shower, well, if your using the same soap, there is a good chance. Google Herpes and youll see.

  6. you can look at this website, it has alot of info on different STD's and HIV

  7. whoever answered #2 doesn't know what they are talking about. no you can't catch it from anything in the bathroom if you live with someone who has it. the virus can't live very long (only a few minutes at most) when exposed to air, so it really is not possible to catch it this way.

  8. only if you are really quick
