i have a 2002 dodge 1500 4 door pick up and im looking at buying a new stereo for it. i know my truck has a 1.5 din but is it possible to change that to a 1 din or even a 2 din? i would prefer a 2 din but i don't think that is possible because that would be too tight. also i know i can put a 1 din unit in there and add a spacer thing, but i want it too look clean, so if i have to put a single din in, is there a dashboard kit that would cover the whole thing? if anyone has any good websites that has this stuff it would be greatly appreciated if you would post it here.

  1. yea, the single din is not a problem. 2 Din solution for Chryslers, Jeeps, or Dodges typically don't work or for most cars in general that is. If you wanted it done you would have to take it to a shop that does custom labor. The install kit that you have to use for that truck actualyl isn't bad. You'll need An install kit, wiring harness, and an antenna adapter. The install kit will be a 510CR, the wiring harness is for 2002 and up Chryslers, and just a chrysler antenna adapter. If you go to a car audio shop or best buy it'll cost you about 50 bucks.

  2. you can go to a 1din, using the proper mounting hardware..

a 2 din will need the dash to be modified (cut) to fit.
