Can you change a 20 Amp Mini-Breaker to 25 AMPs to increase power?

  1. You CAN but you had better check that the wires that connect to the breaker will stand the extra load. The breaker is there to protect the whole circuit not just to annoy you


  2. That will not increase the power of anything. It will just let the item melt.

  3. If you think you can find 25 amp plug in breakers, that would be an achievement in itself. But even if you do, like the other guy said, your wire  must go up in size as well. Whatever your plugging in to trip the 20 amp (I assume this is your problem) should say what its power requirements are on the label.

  5. Not unless you have 10 gage wire. 20 amp breakers are for 12 gage wire and that is the max for 12 gage wire.

  6. Breakers are there to protect the wire. As long as you upgrade the wires you'll be OK.
