Can you change the file type of a picture?

i really want to put some pics on myspace and its keeps saying the file type is not supported. :[

myspace file types, basic types are jpg, gif, [png]*, if you have bmp, tiff, raw, or psd, may need to open in editor, then save copy as jpg,

does not mention "png" but should accept,

yeah, just open the picture in paint and resave it in whatever format you choose
