My mother-in-law was going to fly over here, but is now unable to make it... Can my husband use her ticket and just change direction of the flight so he can go see her? The ticket was bought on the southwest website at a web only deal. The cheapest ticket you can buy.

  1. I don't know how changing the name works, but I have had success in changing the flight.  After I booked my airline tickets through Southwest, I found a cheaper fare from a nearby airport instead, and I just went online to change it and it didn't cost me a thing.

On the southwest home page go to "View or Change Your Flight" in the list on the right.  Put in your confirmation number and purchaser name, and see if there is a place where it will let you change the name.

  2. of course, southwest always does that. Whenever my family  goes and we have have a last minute change, you cancel that ticket and then you get southwest credit or what ever, and then you can use it another time. And I always buy the cheapest ticket:) Have fun with your family :)
