I want to change the size of my finger and thumb inserts in my black widow bite so they are smaller and more snug on my fingers. The span is fine, but will they have to redrill my ball inorder to make the holes small enough for new small inserts or can they just fill in the original ones? how much would it cost too

  1. They can definitely change out the inserts and replacing them with new ones.  Only if the same manufacturer is used though.....  You can't replace Master Grips with Vise Grips because the dimensions are different, but if you can help it, maybe purchasing a magic carpet (insert tape with smooth side velcro feel to it) will help you keep the holes snug, but if your fingers don't fluctuate much, then it's wise to change them out.

I have Vise Grip industries finger grips but adjust them with white or black tape and an "exacticated" thumb that matches my thumb perfectly so that I don't need much adjustment.  Good luck and check with your pro shop for options to make your fingers and thumb more comfortable.

  2. not sure but i believe they just plug them up and redrill....  but they might be able to do it w/o redrilling....  ask your pro shops....

Also tape works wonders, i use that too....

  3. My pro shop charges me $6 for the new inserts, not sure how much they will charge you though. Most inserts are universal and should fit into your current holes. If they say you need to re-drill, call some other shops around(if there are any) There are also some online stores (bowlingball.com comes to mind) that sell do-it-yourself kits if you want to tackle it on your own
