Can you check into your hotel anytime?

I'm booking a room for 2 days at a hotel, and the check in time is 2pm. I won't be arriving there until at least 6pm. I can still check in then, right?

Yes, you can but make sure that the hotel is informed for your arrival after 6pm ...  just to make sure they keep the room in case you have not guaranteed with a credit card for the reservation.

Make sure you call the hotel and tell them you won't be checking in until later.  It should be no problem.
