this is my report. (it is double spaced in word)
This summer I read the book, “Deep Greenâ€Â, by Melody Carlson. I chose this book because I had read the first book in the “Color Me†series. I enjoyed the other book so, decided to read the second book. This book also seemed interesting because it was about high school experience, and when things go wrong in high school.
T his book fits the theme of “facing difficult life decisions†perfectly. This book is about a girl named Jordan, who recently became a cheerleader. The head cheerleader Shawna became one of her best friends. But Jordan really likes Shawna's boyfriend, Tim. After Tim gets to know Jordan, he dumps Shawna and asks Jordan out. Then come all the decisions that Jordan has to make, should she lose her new friendship for some boy that she just met?
After she makes, what later seems like the wrong decision, Shawna seeks revenge, and Jordan has to make a decision, fight back, or to just give up Tim. Shawna later finds a way steals Tim back, and Jordan can't decide what to do, because she knows a way to get Tim back. But that way is something she doesn't think shes ready to do. She now has to make a very important decision, something that she might regret for the rest of her life. Jordan's old friend Cara might have a solution, Cara recently became religious, and believes that if Jordan did too, God would bring the the answer to her problem. Only Jordan doesn't think God exists and thinks that he is incapable of helping her. But a twist of events, helps her make the right decision.
I would recommend this book to most teenage girls. This book is a real life situation, that others might actually be facing. The only reason I would not recommend this book to some, is if they did not enjoy books involving religion. This book involves getting over your problems, by starting to believe in god. Other than that, this book is a great read for readers above 14 years old.
