The only danger from chewing sticky gum would be the small chance that it would pull a bracket off of your tooth.  Not a big deal, you can schedule an appointment and they can glue a new one on.

Just be careful!

You can chew gum while having braces. But you dont not want them to get stuck in your brackets and you can't pull it out without a hard time. So it is best if you dont chew gum while you have braces.
