  1. Yea, but your trousers might fall down ;-)

(If you live in the USA you probably won't get this)

  2. for one thing you should not chew gum in the first place if you got braces, your teeth will never get better and you will have no teeth by age 30 and another thing yes you can chew gum but chew small peices only.

                           hope i helped=D

  3. The chew gum get stuck in the brace which will cause tooth decay

  4. I do. Just make sure you chew with your teeth (I know that sounds stupid)   not like on your braces, because it might get stuck. Bubblegum isn't so good because they can be pretty sugary.

  5. Yes u can do it, nothing happens=)

  6. They tell you not to, but I did! lol I had braces for 4 years, so I mean how can you not chew gum?  It really doesn't do anything to mess them up, I got them off a couple years ago and my teeth turned out fine. So yeah theres really no problem!

    =]

  7. It's risky - hard gum can tug on the braces and possibly bend them. That said, plenty of other foods are capable of doing this - chewy bread, caramel, most candies, etc. I'd avoid bubblegum and any gum that tastes hard. Most gum goes hard after about 20-30 mins in your mouth so definitely take it out by then. If you're worried just be safe and don't chew it at all.

  8. My daughters did it all the time with their braces..  No problems at all.

The worry is that you can possible bend or break your braces  with the gum..  Stay away from bubble gum.. The regular kind is ok.

  9. I don't know, but braces are hot

  10. Lol at Chris B. =P

Yeah, chewing gum with braces is fine. You just have to be careful not to play around with it in your mouth. For example, before I got braces, when I got bored chewing my gum, I would paste it on my teeth, stick it to the side of my mouth, etc. But you absolutely can't do that with brace, otherwise it gets stuck! And then it's a huge pain trying to scrape it out. And then your ortho can tell because there's bits of gum stuck in your braces. Hehehe...

  11. i have braces. have for 18 months. and well.. im a gum chewer! pretty much everyday. my ortho said do it. especially the first week of having braces. it helps with movement because your jaw's constantly moving. so yeah its good for it. i might suggest however to not blow bubbles. could get stuck in the wire =P.

  12. Well when I had braces I rarely chewed gum because it got stuck in my brackets and between my teeth. If you chew sugar free and be careful than maybe you'll be fine, but I don't recommend it!

  13. nope! but i can chew the gum for you!

  14. Well my friend's orthodontist told her that she couldn't chew gum, however, my ortho literally handed me gum. lol. I believe it's really just your preference. I chewed it all the time with braces and I never had any problems and my friend had several brackets and even a band pop off. Just chew sugar free gum and find brands that aren't really chewy and sticky, like Extra and Orbit. Good luck with the braces!
