Question:

Can you choose the s*x of your baby?

My friend has had 3 boys but would love a baby girl as she had a really close bond with her mum who has recently died. Is there anyway, be it through diet or supplements that she can try to help her have a baby girl?

Thanks for your help

  1. No way at all. There are wives tales, but I don't believe in wives tales at all! And I am sure that she could have just as strong relationships with her boys anyways!

  2. Nope. No way at all she just needs to hope.

  3. its not up to her if shes gonna get a girl or boy, its the man. He's got the sperm to determine weather its a boy or a girl, So first, you should realise that

  4. Well the method you can try and that worked for us by the past is planbaby.com They will provide you with a boy (or a girl) calendar that will give your best dates to conceive the gender you want. They seem to be successful.

  5. There is really no way but it is possible I have three boys and now preg. with a girl I wanted a girl so badly and now think God I am finally going to have my girl prayer works

  6. You can go to a doctor and have the sperm sorted and have artificial insemination.  It is very expensive though, and still the odds are only

about 70% of successfully conceiving your chosen gender.

  7. No...and anyway, it's the father (ie the sperm) that determines the s*x of the baby.

  8. Through IVF one can select gender which is a very expensive treatment. Sometimes back i read and article about Shettle's method. Heres the link for it.

  9. no

  10. no there is no way to do that sorry

  11. Its up to the man, well his little guys that is. You really cant choose the s*x of your baby!

  12. Nope!

  13. they can do it buy ivf, but it is expensive it's called gender selection ivf.

  14. There's been some talk of being able to choose the gender by what you eat. Apparently if you eat more meat, nuts, salty foods and carbohydrates for a boy and dairy products and vegetables for a girl. This is just a wive's tale though and is likely to not make a difference.

However, I suggest that your friend should just accept what she gets as that's the whole idea of nature.

  15. unfortunately there isn't really anything that can be done. My midwife did tell me that female sperm lives longer in the uterus than male sperm so there's a higher chance of concieving a female if you have s*x later rather than earlier during your fertile window. Who knows!

  16. Playing God is never a good idea.

  17. Nope. Absolutely nothing you can do. The s*x is determined at the SECOND of conception. Weather the sperm has an X or Y chromosome. There is absolutely no way to change it.

  18. No i never heard of it before but Good Luck and hope she get what you want......

  19. not really, its down to the sperm that picks the s*x of the baby, tell her to go on to ovulation sites they can say whens best to have s*x so the female sperm survive and this could lead to a girl, but its not scientific really just something to try really! good luck x
