  1. healthy habitat works great and is made for cleaning repitle cages...you can even use it when the animal is in the cage...heck i accidentally sprayed it in my mouth one time...didn't taste that great but i lived.

  2. Yeah, you can. Just make sure you rinse it very well and you can't smell the 409.

  3. No! Cleaners like 409, Ajax, even Clorox can be dangerous for a reptile, regardless if you "think" you cleaned it all out or not. Residue and odor will be left, and this can kill your pet.

I recommend dish washing liquid and very hot water.

  4. NOOOOOO! You will kill the animal no mater how much you rinse out the tank. You need to go to the local pet store and buy the repti-clean formula for house cleaners.  You are investing a lot of money into a long term pet, start out right and make sure his home is safe, or you will be wasting your money time and time again replacing the animal. Good Luck.

  5. My daughter volunteers at a local reptile rescue center and they clean all their tanks with a solution of 1 cup of bleach for every 10 cups of water.  Then just make sure you rinse it until you can't smell the bleach.  The bleach will kill any germs or bacteria in the tank and as long as you rinse it after, it won't cause any problems for your beardie.  That is also what I do periodically at home with our 3 lizards.

  6. Formula 409? No! That is poison them. Use Turtle Clean. It is made for turtle tanks, but cleans all enclosures.

  7. not if it has phenol or pine scent.

  8. Yes, I would probably wash with dish soap afterwords.  Until it rinses clean just to make sure.
