Question:

Can you clean contacts of an eye infection?

I recently just caught another eye infection from a contaminated case of mine and I was curious, can I rub my contacts thoroughly enough to get rid of the infection? They're roughly pretty new and I just put them in not too long ago and I was hoping that I wouldn't have to waste another pair. Mine cost quite a bit so I was hoping to save them somehow.

Thanks!

  1. I wouldnt risk it, contact lenses are very absorbant, and although you can clean them i doubt you could clean off all the bacteria. Most opticians if you ask will replace a pair of lenses if you are on a scheme with them. Make sure you change your case every time you put a new pair of lenses in, you only get one pair of eyes so dont risk infection again.
