Can you clone plants?

I know you clone animals with a cell (further details i have no clue). And plants have cell so can you. And has it been done B4.

  1. Plants clone themselves very, very frequently.

    We clone plants by taking "cuttings" (large sections of a living plant) and soaking the wounded stem in a hormone that tells the plant to produce roots. If you have a stem, roots, and leaves, you have a whole new plant!

    Most cheap store-bought trees are grown exactly this way - that's why they come with such a small amount of roots.


  2. Yes. The easiest way is to just rip off a piece of the plant and put it in the ground to grow. The two plants will have the exact same DNA.

    It has been done before.
