I have a credit card I got a couple years ago to pay a $1000 debt I had. It had a 0% APR on purchases for the first 15 months. I paid the $1000 off within the 15 months and the cards been balance free ever since. I have a bill that I would like paid off on a smaller scale of APR and that card has the same deal for new accounts. Can I close my account and then sign up for it again and take advantage of the 0% apr for a year again?

  1. Well, technically, it wouldn't be the same card or offer in the eyes of the company.  So I would just apply for the new card, then when you get it, close the old account!

You can't really apply for exact same card or offer.  They change the offer numbers all the time, even though it's the same deal.

    So in short, YES.

  2. Of course!  The credit card company will do anything to get your business back.  When I was younger, I would take advantage of these 0% deals and when the term was done, I transfer it to another card company with a similar deal.  I close the first card and after awhile, there is the same offer again in the mail.

  3. Contact the credit card provider, and ask them this question.  Hopefully they can accomodate you.  I'm not sure they will let you close the account, and re-open it, and your credit could take a hit for it.  So, talk to them first and then make your decision.

  4. no not really u not supposed to

  5. Hi,

I used "Credit Solution" to settle my debt and improve my credit score. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58%.It's legitimate. I came across this company on NBC News Special Edition.Check it out here:

  6. No, your contract with  that card provider was satisfied when you both honored your agreement.  However, I would call the Credit Card Provider and ask them this very question without the cancellation part. In other words, ask them to extend their offer for another 24 months and see if they counter with 15.  Your good credit makes you pretty much in charge.  Credit card providers can be quite flexible for consumers because they are still getting the benifits of your purchases from the retailers.  Peace.
