Can you coat your palms to withstand fire?

Question

Can you put something on your hands,(..like when we were kids and put Elmer's glue on our palms and let it dry)...to make them tolerate fire temporarily? Like holding a hot potato(e) without burning yourself and to withstand the heat for a second, a second and a half?
