Can you collect unemployment and day trade stocks.If you make money day trading will it be taking from your unemployment?

    I just talked to my broker and he said, absolutely it is different. Its capital gains.


    Talk to your broker and see what he says. All my money is borrowed to get me thru,


    so if they don't take that into consideration that can't be right.


    Maybe the person you talked to didn't real know and just had the standard answer.


  2. I just called my state department today and asked the same question. The lady said that any income earned must be reported no matter what. The problem is that I had bought the stock before collecting and decided to sell it now becuase it was going down and did not want to loose alot of money on it. So I had made over 5,000 dollars of that trade so how would I report it? She says when you claim online it goes by days so it took me 1 day to sell the stock and let me see about half a second of work lol so I don't  know that's tricky   but I will leave this be. If you make I will stop in to the one stop unemployment center in my area to ask more about this because I don't want to loose the unemployment because of it.
