Can you compare obama to a cult movement?

I saw a news article stating that the obama scene is more like a cult movement than a political campaign. What say yea?

I dunno I think he says what people want to hear.  I noticed in the debate he dodged questions and tap danced around when he did answer.  I do not like that.  John Edwards was the only democrat to give a straight answer and he is out of the democrat race.  I would have voted for him for pres but now I am forced to vote for McCain.

People will always be taken in by fancy speakers. They normally just tell people what they want to hear. It is definitely a form of brain washing. And no cool aid for me thanks :)

As the other poster stated, people just want change and to be honest anything other than Bush would ease my mind.

The fact that Obama is black who had a white mother may in fact grab both the white and black vote and make everyone happy.  Although a few comments from black people have been that even though Obama is black the white house will still be run by whites.

I haven't really heard much of what Obama is saying, but he sounds more educated than Bush. And i like some of his policies. We will see what happens.

i don;t look at it as a cult movement.people want change not just talk but real change.they are looking for someone who will bring on a different course for america for the good of all americans and not just for the select few. people hope that obama is that kind of person.i don;t think he is myself.he;s a smooth talker but as far as action is concerned i don;t think he has what it takes to be our president.

cult movements are usually characterized by (i) secrecy, (ii) extreme loyalty required, (iii) exotic doctrines, and (iv) for anyone that strays, they are punished.  Not one of those characteristics apply, in my judgment.
