  1. www.city-data.com not only has facts about each city but message boards as well.  www.epodunk.com is another source with the same information.

  2. I've never been to UT, but I can explain some of teh otehr cities......

Santa Barbara: Schools are only good if tehy are private- public education is crummy. They haves ome of teh lowest national scores. Hot and humid, temperatures can rach over 100 degrees in the summer. It's difficult to live well on a small budget. This is california we're talkinga bout. Everything is expensive- ESPECIALLY houses. The location is in demand, and people are willing to pay big money to live tehre. I haven't lived there- but I have family i nthe surrounding area.

Chicago!!: I live here- its a beautiful city with lots to do. Some of the best schools around with the highest paid teachers in the country. Downside is that we have teh most expensive gas around, too. With the bad market.... lots of condos are availible downtown. In the suburbs, houses are hard to get. In hte summers it uaully stays around 90 degrees... not hotter than that, but winters are brutal. Be prepared for feet of snow and windchill that makes it colder than 15 below zero. Last eyar we got 23 below zero. brrr!

Miami: My aunt lives there. Condos are really expensive and the reasonably priced ones on't stay around for long. Hot and huimid-- I hope you can handle hurricanes! You better have family up north- evacuations are regualr. Becasue of teh cost of repairing things, florida doesn't ahve house taxes. During teh summer months (hurricane season) most things at home Depot/lowes are discounted and you can buy canned foods/ flashlights/ batteries/ blankets for really cheap. Pretty much anythign that can be used in a state of emergency is cheap for a few months. Its beautiful! But expensive-- stay away from big beaches that are busy, its a tourist trap. But be careful.... tehre are a lot of drug problems, especailly by national highways. Some gun violence too, just make sure you stay on the right side of teh city! If it looks bad-- stay away!

    Sorry- never been to mannhattan.

    hope this helps a little!
