Im buying 12'' subz n amps for my 2003 Dodge Intrepid but i heard I might have to buy a new cd player dash to connect my subz n ampz. My cd player is a 6 disc changer that already came with the car. Do i need 2 buy a new cd player or can I use my factory cd player? I also heard if I cant connect them to my original cdplayer I can buy a converter..

  1. well you can't do that without buying an amp. buy the amp according to the wattage your sub can take.

  2. Yes you can. You can buy a line out converter but you will have splice into you wiring harness to hook it up. Very simple to install and cheap, can be found at your local wal mart for about $15.

  3. all you need is a "line output converter"  (LOC) to give your radio a set of RCA outputs to hook the amp up to

    here are some http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i331_...

if you do decide to upgrade the radio you will get more system adjustments and better sound quality- and with after market radios you don't usually need a "loc" because it will have the RCA outputs and that will let you control the amp/subs from the radio itself (you don't have to go to the trunk or add a bass remote to your dash)

factory radios cant usually stand up to the extra bass, and skip constantly

-- its 2008 get a radio that can play MP3s, you can fit twice as many cds on an MP3 disc as your radio can hold and they wont skip--

  4. YES its simple just get some rca line converters and hook them from your rear speakers to your amps or fronts if you are upgrading the front speakers use ur head its really easy but you will loose on sound quality

  5. If you really want to have a great quality sound you will upgrade your system. But if you are broke than you can go this way but upgrading is always better to have.

  6. You don't need a new cd player, unless you want a new one...You can buy a rca line converter and the sub and amp will work fine.
