In my new house, there are speakers already installed in the ceiling. Can I connect these 4 speakers to my Bose 321 system or do I have to buy a new receiver? Where do I get instructions on how to do that?

  1. Bose audio systems usually work as a system.  The speakers and amplifier are designed to work together well.  You could try it and see what happens, but you may be disapointed (but then again, you never know untill you try it).

A normal receiver probably would work better because it is designed to work with pretty much any speaker system.  The instructions with the unit will explain how to connect it.

  2. The 321 will NOT support those speakers in the ceiling  the 321 is a stand alone system. A Bose Lifestyle system (5.1 home theater) can support 14 additional rooms and could possibly link to your 321 as another zone too. Look for a Bose Link connection in the back of the 321 media center. and your ceiling speakers would need a Bose amp and remote.
