  1. yes...you can connect it thru the Internet.....use any USB port to do so!

You don't need any land-line anymore!

no....there is no customer service but the online chat and several good websites to help you out!!

and yes, you will get your money back, but then again you have to do everything online....!

I have the MJ since last year and love it!

  2. right

  3. I've been using the MJ for a little over a week without any significant problems. Please keep in mind that you must have a broadband connection (preferably one with high upload bandwidth) to use it.

The MJ device has good points and bad ones:

    Good

    Inexpensive

Can call anywhere in the US/Canada for no additional charge

    Easy setup

Can use a regular telephone unlike Skype

Voice mail, caller ID, E911, call forwarding and 411 service all included

    Bad

Virtually nonexistent customer service-only outsourced chat is available, no phone service (rather ironic)

Poor rating by BBB (currently a D), mostly regarding refunds

Area codes for assigned phone numbers not available everywhere

Some known conflicts with certain AV and media software

    Difficult return process

All in all, it's kind of a crapshoot. If it works for you, then more power to you, but if not, you may be SOL. Good luck!

  4. Hi,

Sorry to disappoint the Magic Jack users, but Magic Jack is one of the worst VoIP providers in existence. As he said, there's no real customer service - just online chat (which takes about 20 minutes to get to). What REAL professional business doesn't have a customer contact number you can call? What if you were blind? That's flag number 1. Flag number to is the way they market their product. They advertise to a select group of people:

    1. Those who don't know about VoIP

    2. Those who don't do their research

If you want something like magic jack, you should go with a different, reputable VoIP provider, with REAL customer service. The equipment is the same, and most of the time it's free. And yes, with VoIP - you don't need a land line.

I recommend going to voip-reviewer [dot] com - they know their stuff!

Don't go with Magic Jack - Magic Jack isn't even on their list of Top VoIP Providers!

And for the record, their chat support is horrible....

Hope that helps and hope you're smart about this!

    Ryan
