Hi,

I connected a 2nd computer for internet sharing with a router.

The problem is that its driving me crazy with slow connection often, no connection then, repair this, reinstall that.

Can I connect a 2nd modem to the other computer just like I had with the first one?

having a network when it comes to sharing files printers etc isn't necessary, i just want a reliable internet connection.

  1. I have a DSL modem that I can plug two computers into.  I am using one for my computer and the other I have a set top box plugged in that I receive IPTV from Germany via a company in Canada.

  2. You can, but you will be paying extra for an additional IP address.  It is best to use a router because the additional devices you connect to the Internet.  The router is what makes adding more than one computer to your Internet connection free.

  3. If you are on DSL, then no.  You can only have on dsl modem in the house, or they will crosstalk and have no internet connection at all.

If you are on a cablemodem, you MAY be able to.  Contact your ISP
